My first post and Hello Kitty!

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to my first post, I'm so excited to share my world of cakes. I'm a stay at home mom, who loves to bake and decorate cakes, a bit rusty, so this blog is going to be a learning experience for me, as I try to practice and improve on my basic skills. I can't promise my blogging will be consistent, but will try to do my best to post as much as I can.

In December I was asked, to make my first Hello kitty cake, by a sweet friend for her daughter's fifth birthday. Of course, every cake I do, there's always a learning curve and a dramatic experience, which drives my husband crazy! and before every delivery it always ends up, him saying "I hate cakes".

Here are close-ups, of the beautiful candy table and cake, which was designed and arranged by the birthday girls Aunt. My friend and her family are beautiful people inside and out.

I hope you like!

The flavor of the cake was, white chocolate cake with fresh strawberry SMBC with an addition of more fresh strawberries, with homemade white chocolate fondant colored pink. So Yum!

Thank you for visiting! More post of cakes and life in the near future.

Blessings!

  5. Hi Michelle, I made the base part out of pastillage, and allowed it to dry for a couple of days, then I air-brushed it and finished the top part out of fondant. Hope that helps!
